Shawn Findlater is an ASQ author who has worked in both the Medical Device and Aerospace Industry in the area of Supplier Quality visiting over 200+ supplier facilities. He obtained his Master's in Engineering Management and Bachelor's in Industrial and Systems Engineering from the University of Florida. In 2013, he was awarded the Modern Day Technology Leader Award by the Black Engineer of the Year Awards Organization in Washington D.C. He is an ISO 13485 Lead Auditor and holds certifications from ASQ as a Certified Quality Engineer, a Certified Software Quality Engineer, a Certified Supplier Quality Professional, and a Certified Six Sigma Black Belt. He has participated in the Job Analysis workshop and Exam Review workshop for the Certified Quality Engineer exam for ASQ and was a part of the new Certified Supplier Quality Professional exam creation process. His passion is to show other QE's how he reached all of these credentials and experience within a few years of entering the profession.

Which ASQ Certification is this course for?
This course is for all certifications because we teach you a reference-based system, not a knowledge course. Most people fail the certifications because they think it is a knowledge exam when it is primarily a reference exam. (I could go into more detail on why this is so, but the short story is that all questions must come from a referenced published text. I know because I was a part of the exam writing process for CQE, CSSBB, and CSQP) So the question is, "How fast can you find the question in the reference text?" This is important because we had many discussions in the exam writing process about whether we agreed with the text, but we had to use the answer from the text!
In this course, do you go through all of the sections/topics required to pass the exam ?
I do not go through the sections of the test but rather teach you the system that can pass any test. I passed 2 of the hardest ones CQE and CSSBB within 3 months of each other using this system when I had only 3 years of experience and I am smart but not that smart (It took 3 months because they only held the tests every 3 months back then).
In addition to your course, what other things should we do to successfully pass the exam?
Nothing. In the last part of the course, I tell you to practice using the reference material you created. The more you do that, the faster you will finish the test. I walked out of each exam I took with about an hour or so remaining, so I suppose with more practice, I could have walked out earlier. After you pass the first certification using this system, you will have more confidence in the approach and have a better feel for how much practice is needed. It is not just me who was able to do this. Most students end up walking out early as well.
